TRAINING

To keep students reminded of their norms and procedures, there is a rotating anchor chart that displays the procedures for individual work, group work, technology time, tests and quizzes, etc. This is an extremely important part of our classroom system!

To be successful in achieving our goals this year, we have a set of class norms to follow. Like anything in life, learning and living with these norms doesn't just happen overnight. We will be working on these behaviors throughout the school year and my vision is that students will be working with PRIDE by the end of the year.

The first week of school will be spent on a lot of culture activities, where the students and I get to know one another personally, and procedural activities, where they get to know the classroom. Some of the activities we do in the first week is take a practice quiz to simulate the actual testing environment in the classroom, write and perform skits about classroom procedures, create posters, and even write our Acceptable Use Policy for classroom use of technology.

To meet our goals related to our students future, each student will complete a project about a career they are interested in and what kind of education they will need to be successful in that role. This activity will be part of the Follow-Up Friday stations, but the student will have individual time to meet with me about their project. Look for more information on this project to come soon!
