TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY

Technology is any type of tool that helps you complete a task more efficiently and effectively. For the purpose of this class, we use 5 primary types of technology; some you may consider traditional, some you might not.

 

TEXTBOOKS

MATH NOTEBOOKS

  • Students are not assigned textbooks to take home

  • Textbooks will be used mostly for practice because I believe true math understanding comes from experience

  • Notebooks are required everyday

  • Notebooks serve as the organization system for our class

  • Students should take the notebook to high school as a reference

TABLETS

  • Tablets will be used typically once per week

  • Tablets are great for simulation and remediation

  • Students will need headphones to use tablets

INTERNET

  • Internet will be used regularly as a resource for projects and review

  • Students will also take tests on the Internet occasionally

MOBILE DEVICES

  • Students will use mobile devices in class regularly

  • Sometimes devices are used as calculators

  • Mobile devices are only to be use at the direction of the teacher
